As in the word landscape from the Greek verb for ‘to look’, this morning session introduces speedy drawing and painting techniques to explore the sensation of looking. Whether contemplating the lie of the land in front of you or a place in the mind, this looking is always a unique exchange between view and viewer united by time and place. By the end of the morning each participant will have works on paper to take home and review for further development.
This experience is designed to welcome both beginners and experienced painters, offering a series of reflections and practical techniques accessible to all. The aim is for each participant to gain something meaningful that extends well beyond the morning spent together, providing inspiration and tools for future artistic exploration.
By the end of the session, each participant will have their own unique works on paper to take home and develop further.

This led to experimenting with other types of surface and paint…and a later return to canvas. Painting is a constant puzzling out.
